Education:
An MBA and First – class Commerce Graduate, Jayant Kumar Jain inherited
business acumen form his successful businessman father Shri Madanlal Jain. At
quite a young age, the word “export’ caught his fertile imagination. He
analyzed the factors governing varied requirements of different countries and
went on to offer them what they wanted.
Business:
The Results were there for all to see: on barely 15 years, a tea firm doing trading
zoomed to the heights of a STAR TRADING HOUSE (Formerly Four STAR EXPORT
HOUSE). The LMJ group today operates form more than 15 well- appointed
branches/subsidiaries around the globe. It exports to more than 70 countries
across the globe, including the United Kingdom, USA, Japan, Germany,
Switzerland, Tunisia and South Africa etc. It is one of India’s Leading
Exporters and deals in commodities ranging from staple food like wheat, rice,
soybeans, sugar, spices, animal feed etc., beverages like tea and coffee, and
guar gum and iron ore.
Growth: The
unrelenting effort of J. K Jain and his brothers, who continually tried to
expand the company’s operations, the LMJ Group, now has, in a short span of
time, become a $1000 million enterprise exports, tea and coffee plantations,
port operations, logistics, development of Mega Food Park in Tamil Nadu, West
Bengal. Today in the infrastructure development LMJ has been playing very
significant role in development of FTWZ and Agricultural Terminal Market.
Today, as Star Trading House, is can be claimed, that there is no agricultural
commodity that the LMJ International LTD has not exported.
Diversification:
Another important area of operations of LMJ is the fast – Growing Logistics and
Warehousing business. LMJ has tie-ups with multinationals like Hindustan Lever
Ltd, Castrol India Ltd., Tata Motors Ltd., Bayer, Electrolux, Coca Cola,
Mitsubishi to name a Few. Jayant Kumar Jain has been the moving force for the
growth and expansion of this vertical.
Recognitions:
The consistent export excellence of the company has been recognized by the
Government of India when the Ministry of Commerce conferred the coveted status
of GOLDEN STAR EXPORT HOUSE Several other awards instituted by the ministry of
Commerce as well as other trade bodies including the Federation of India Export
Organizations (FIEO) quickly followed this special honors. These awards include
merit certificate for exports, APEDA EXPORT AWARD, NIRYAT SHREE OLD TROPHY,
NIRYAT SHREE SILVER THROPHY and the like.
